CBSE invites applications under Udaan scheme
New Delhi, Aug 5: The Central Board of Secondary Education has invited applications for Udaan: Session 2017 – 2019, a mentoring programme for girl students in KVs/JNVs/government schools of any recognised Board in India. The scheme aims to reverse the low enrolment of women in top engineering institutions.
Under the programme, selected candidates will be given free study materials in pre-loaded tablet, virtual contact classes and mentoring support. Select candidates will also get financial assistance in the form of reward points at IITs, NITs and other centrally-funded engineering colleges/ technical institutes in India.
Indian students residing in the country and currently enrolled for academic session 2017-18 in Class XI and studying in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) stream, with family annual income less than ₹6 lakh are eligible to apply online at www.cbse.nic.in / www.cbseacademic.in.
The applicant must have scored minimum 70% marks in class X and 80% mark in science and mathematics or minimum CGPA of 8 and GPA of 9 in science and mathematics.
The selection of students will be considered against the ‘Chosen City – Option’ for the weekly contact classes conducted every Saturday and Sunday.
The last date for online application submission is August 7, 2017.
After applying online, the printed application form along with the necessary certificates and annexures is to be duly verified by the school principal where the girl is studying.
